Ergonomics in Finance and Banking
Is it surprising that there are many ergonomics issues in banking and finance? The type of work that is carried out - sedentary for long periods, often with time demands, and sometimes in a multi-role capacity, would indicate that there should be no surprise. The design of the workstation or work environment is key to improving the situation, and this is where our competence is best applied.
Getting the design right first time is an essential component of a successful roll out programme. Over many years, with a wide range of clients in the finance and banking sector, we have demonstrated that we can truly add value. We also frequently complete risk assessments and reviews of existing workstations or tasks to assist in finding solutions. These include assessments for individuals off sick, returning to work, or those with disabilities. Equally, completing usability surveys and designing equipment used by the public is within our remit.
We often work with design teams, facility managers, architects, IT and health and safety staff to supplement their competences with our capabilities and experience. Not only are our consultancy and training services in demand but we are also able to specify equipment and furniture, and source and supply it as required.
Why do finance and banking clients keep coming back to us for our assistance? Because they need to make sure that they are complying with best practice and up-to-date health and safety requirements, and also to fulfil their Corporate Social Responsibility. But also because they value our input and the ergonomic sign off that we give. And of course because we can show that with our involvement we can introduce a commercial edge.
