Human Factors

In response to the contemporary understanding from industry, our human factors approach sets out to systematically assess the design and use of products or systems that influence human performance, efficiency and health and safety.

We have been providing specialist human factors services for over a decade to clients in a variety of industrial sectors in the UK, Europe and Middle East. Our experience includes helping to develop Safety Management Systems (SMS) for the nuclear industry and major oil/gas operators and undertaking SMS assessments of suppliers in the oil/gas industry. We have also undertaken joint industry projects with the Health and Safety Executive Offshore Division and industrial partners in the oil/gas industry.

In addition, services offered include:

Human Factors input into Safety Cases and Safety Management Systems (including COMAH safety reports)
design review and verification studies
control room and user interface design and assessment
human error analysis
task and workload assessment

We are experienced in working within design teams and understand the practicalities of integrating top quality human factors within the framework of large engineering projects.

This competence is supplemented by our other capabilities - for example in workplace design, musculoskeletal disorders and training and personal development. Thus we can provide a total systems approach to finding solutions to human factors issues.
